Oh yeah, and looking at my logs (good idea what!) I found out
that everyone who was calling me since putting in ATS27=48 was
connecting with MNP4 instead of LAPM! I think I'll document
that as a bug. Oh, except that on my OUTGOING call to Dave
Hatch, the connect was LAPM. As of 1995-02-10T13:45 I have
gotten rid of this stupid S27=48 and substituted S34=128.
This disables 19200 (sorry, Frank!) but has the benefit that
I don't ask Rod's modem for a retrain, although it has made
Rod's modem connect (once so far) at 12000 which dropped out
soon after. Actually, I can't be bothered documenting these
problems anymore. If I actually owned the machine and the
problems were happening over a period of time, I would make
the effort, but this modem is such a pile of XXXX that I've
got bug overload. Interestingly, I had to do exactly the
same thing on my Spirit Thunder, disable V32terbo because it
was screwing up V32bis modems! BFN. Paul.
