I quite agree.

Even I, who like to think myself well-informed, can't keep up with all the
issues.  The thought of all the yo-yos in the country handling the load is
silly.  Based on current voter turn-out, only the fanatics would
consistently vote, and that's who would be running things.

Heck, even Congress-critters have staffs to do research and such.
