Sounds like a problem with either Thunderbird or your local Thunderbird
configuration?

Yahoo doesn't control which address you send your replies to.

I'm a little surprised that you can't simply assign a hard-coded response
address to each mailing list.  That's what I do in Yarn, for example.

Maybe a new feature to ask the Thunderbird folks about?
