We're in the situation here where we get The History Channel thru our cable
company, but unfortunately, the TV listings for the channel are sparse.
Occasionally I can pick up a little folder with further descriptions of the
shows from my cable company, I can pay for the cable TV guide (kinda pricey),
a commercial TV guide (also pricey and not necessarily with the info I need),
or buy The History Channel magazine. Or, better yet, as I found out today,
one can subscribe to get the prime time listings and descriptions sent to one
via Internet email.
To do this, one sends an email to majordomo@aetv.com, using the Subject Line,
subscribe historychannel - schedule.
I'm trying this - sounds great to me! Also, Saturday and Sunday mornings, The
History Channel hosts History for Kids from 9 am to noon Eastern time. It
would seem to me that it would be very acceptable to tape these shows for
viewing during the week, as long as one would erase or tape over them after
watching. There is also one called The Real West which is on at 3pm our time
(Pacific) - that one catches my kids' attention periodically.
