-> Well getting inverted with a collective pitch is one heck of a good
-> one..
Hummmm...Me thinks one of us is confused between collective and fixed
pitch...? Collective, as in from 10 degs. negative to 12 degs. positive
and fixed pitch as in the same pitch all the time. Altitude and speed
are controlled by the rotor speed.
->I have the LMH-100 ( from lite machines ) with a huge .051 ( ha
-> ha ) power plant..
->..I've been flying planes for 4 years..so copters is new
I wouldn't feel bad about that power plant, my small choppers only
have O.S. 32's. As for the wind, I know they don't like that, and
neither do I, but if worse comes to worse, and I have to fly in the
wind, I kick my throttle up to 80% at half stick. I might mention that
I am controlling my SRX (30) and my SR "Championship" with a Futaba
8UHP so re configuring is pretty simple.
-> Have you heard of the LMH-100 ??, where are you situated ??
Yes I have heard of it, as a matter of fact, there was an article about
it in Rotory Modeler Magazine in January/Febuary of last year. It seems
to me though, that it was introduced as a fixed pitch machine.(?)
I am in a little city called Akron, Ohio. Not many places to fly
around here so most of my flying is at The Corsair Model Aircraft Club
flying field, which is only about a half mile from where I work. The
really nice thing about it is that is where Paul Soha practices flying.
He was national champion the last two years, and probably will be again
this year.
Well, it has quit raining, I think I'll see if I can put one of these
birds in the air before it starts again...
Happy Hovering!
