Yeah, yeah, yeah.  I'll have you know I just finished the Craig Anderton
preamp.  You know, the one I made the PCB for last summer.  And
what's more, it works!  I can really slam the front end of those tube
amps now.
I'll probably just use it as a line driver.  I may skip the gain control
and just put a fixed gain jump to be activated with a toggle switch.
My next project:  changing strings;-)
