No one is talking about giving this, or any president, that kind of power.
The idea, and I'm not on board for it necessarily, is to have a back-up
plan in place in the event the election process has been obviously, and
undeniably compromised, due to catastrophic attacks that occur exclusively
on election day, not the day before, not the week before and most certainly
not because they're "threatened."

It's not a matter of which party, or individual, holds the office of the
presidency, it's about being sure that elections remain intact regardless
of outside influences
