Not really true, as one of the problems are people who work oddball shifts,
and NOT getting an opportunity to vote. This solves that problem, as they
can go on the way home, or leave a bit earlier for work. Plus, it spreads
out the load where people aren't rushed because the polls are closing.
Here in TN, we also have "Early Voting", which I think runs for a
month prior to the elections, where you can go to any one of several places
(less than the number of election day poll locations), and cast your ballot
early. Many people are not taking advantage of that option here.
