The idea that there is a linkage between alcoholism and bipolar mood disorder
has pretty much fallen out of favor in the last 15-20 years. Because
alcoholics experience mood swings, there was a belief that they are related:
but the underlying biology is different, and current thinking is that it's
alcohol that produces the mood problems, not the other way around.
I have never heard that ADHD is related to either of the others. What treats
one doesn't treat the others (with the possible exception of whatever it is
that you were discussing, you didn't say what's in it), and the underlying
brain chemistry is not related so far as I've read. I'm pretty sure that if
PET scans or the like showed any such thing, the news would have caught my
attention.
