There are times it has to be done.  

I did the same with _Midnight Cowboy_.  That was a bit different, 
though.  I already knew a lot about the movie and I was watching 
it on local TV.  They gutted it beyound recognition.  

BTW, there is a good trivia question about that movie.  

Any idea about why it is unique in Hollywood?
