Hello, Jason.

17 Jan 07 19:11, you wrote to me:

Why? Be specific.

If you knew C, you could work on the original Synchronet source. It's got
none of the bloat, but all of the goodness.

Maximus has a scripting language (MECCA) and MEX, a true, full-blown
programming language. MECCA is very nice in its own right, allowing you to
do all sorts of fun things.

I wouldn't call it "survival of the fittest", necessarily (sp?).
It's "survival of the most popular". Maximus has been around for
years and still is. It's just not in the limelight. There's DOS, OS/2,
Win32 and Linux versions, but not many people know about that. Heck, I'm
considering tinkering with Maximus's source code to tinker and learn (I
don't know C, but I guess if I'm going to keep going at the rate I am, I
should).

 JH> anyways, you're insane cause you use os2! you wakkadoo!! j/k :D

I'm far from the only one. :) I actually have a list of active OS/2 BBSes
(right now, it's just raw data, I have to assemble it into a working list).
There's more around than you might think.

Later,
Sean
