Hello, all!
This is my first entry (in writing) to the geoworks chat, although I have
been a very happy user of Ensemble since beginning computing (with the able
assistance of geoworks software -first 'Pro, then 2.0) about 2 years ago. I'm
wondering about the possibility of using a ram disk for the swap file, which
would naturally be swifter than having gw write to the hard drive. But is it
possible, and how large does it need to be? (I have 6 Mb Ram). I'm not
dissatisfied with my current geoworks' speed: it's fine. But if it can be
even more snappy, then even better!
Also, someone told me DR dos 6.0 'is full of bugs'. I've been using it
because the taskswitcher, taskmax, is catered for in Ensemble. I've not had
any problems with DR dos, but the fellow's comment intrigued me.
I have a vague recollection that there was something on the ramdisk in a
GEIGA newsletter, but don't know if that's the case, or if I'm dreaming.
ok, bye for now.
