                          THE BASIC NETWORK
              network for software & hardware designers

         The Basic  Network  was established in 1996 by two Basic
    programmers from Moscow/Russia: Michael Yevdokimov and Sergey
    Chabunin.
         The Basic Network is the global network which joines the
    software and hardware designers.  One of the main ways of The
    Basic Network is education.  Also its  members  develope  the
    network software, shareware and freeware.
         Up to this time The Basic Network has  the  branches  in
    different  parts  of  Russia  and  CIS.  In  the nearest time
    BASICNet will have the same branches in other  parts  of  the
    world.
                    The Basic Network Technology
         BASICNet works as Fidonet Technology Network (FTN), i.e.
    as offline system.  The mail exchange between  the  hosts  of
    BASICNet  is  working  using  Email or Internet File Transfer
    Protocol (FTP).
         Between our  members  you will be able to find different
    computer writers,  programmers,  computer artists,  etc. Also
    you  will  be  able to find the partners of such software and
    hardware giants as Borland, Gupta or Logic Works.

         The Basic Network has own technologies,  such as FTP and
    NEWS servers (Internet analogs),  which work in FTN. Also you
    can find the FAQ servers.
         FTP - file request (sources, libraries, etc.);
         NEWS - news and different usefull documentations;
         FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions and Network Information.
         FTP servers support the UUE and simple attachments.  You
    can request the file less that 300k.  But if  you  locate  in
    another region you could request the files only as UUE.
         NEWS servers can send you the UUE and  attachments.  The
    transfer way they choose by themselves.
         FAQ servers can send you the UUE and attachments.
         In the nearest time we plan to develope our own  gateway
    software   (Russian   BasicNet    Internet)  to  make  the
    echoconferenes and NetMail available for your  writing.  Till
    this  time  you  can  send  us  the  NetMail  (Email)  by the
    following rules:
