"  2005

     * March 19: A car bomb explodes in Jdeideh, a northern suburb of
Beirut, wounding 11 people.

     * March 23: Three people are killed and three others wounded in an
explosion in a shopping centre, north of Beirut.

     * March 26: A car bomb attack in an industrial zone in northeast
Beirut injures six.

     * April 1: Nine people are wounded in an explosion in a commercial
and residential neighbourhood of Broumana in the Metn region east of Beirut.

     * May 6: An explosion in the Christian coastal resort of Junieh
north of Beirut injures 29 people.

     * June 2: Prominent anti-Syrian journalist Samir Kassir is killed
when his car blows up in mainly Christian east Beirut.

     * June 21: Former Lebanese Communist Party leader George Hawi is
killed when his car blows up close to his home in the central Beirut
neighbourhood of Wata Musaytbeh.

     * July 12: Outgoing Defence Minister Elias Murr is wounded and two
other people are killed in a car bomb attack in a Christian suburb of Beirut.

     * July 22: At least three people are wounded near the Rue Monot, a
central Beirut street normally crowded with revellers at the weekend.

     * Aug 22: Three people are wounded when a bomb explodes in a
shopping centre causing heavy damage in a Christian suburb of Beirut.

     * Sept 16: One person is killed and 28 wounded in a bombing in a
Christian section of Beirut.

     * Sept 25: Television anchorwoman and political news presenter May
Chidiac, a Christian, is seriously wounded when a bomb rips apart her car
on the northern outskirts of Beirut.

     * Dec 12: A bomb blows up inside Christian MP Tueni's car in the
Christian suburb of Mkalles. Four people are killed, including Tueni and
his driver, and 10 others injured in the attack.

2006

     * Sept 5: A senior security official investigating the Hariri
murder, Lieutenant Colonel Samir Shehade, escapes death in a bomb attack.
Four of his bodyguards are killed.

     * Nov 21: Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel, scion of a prominent
anti-Syrian Christian political dynasty, is shot dead in an ambush on his
convoy in Jdaideh, a northern suburb of Beirut. "



I would have a look what was going on when. E.g. what else was happening
when Samir Kassir was killed.

In terms of state players, it could be Syrian, Iranian or Israeli Intel.
All have a track record, Esp Israel & Syria wrt car bombs in Lebanon.

It could be non state groups e.g any of the existing groups such as
Hebollah, Amal, the Phalange etc. Or it could be "detached
players" e.g. Syrian or Iranian or Israeli agents working on their
own.

It's not just "Anti-Syrian forces" which are being targeted, it's
Christians in general.

Ask yourself: in who's interest is a resumption of the civil war?

It's not in Syria's interest nor Iran's.
