| subject: | USR Courier V34 probl |
IS> If it was happening from many V.32bis modems IS> calling Couriers, I guess we'd have heard about it? PE> This is a classic mistake. Someone always has to be first. PE> I was the first to document the Spirit double-send problem, PE> which happened to be a problem with ALL Spirit modems. TR> While going through my Spirit archives I discover that (as I thought TR> I suspected) you did encounter the problem with Rod's Supra modem. TR> It seems his Supra now has problems with USR V34+ modems. Funny TR> that. Maybe it's just not a very good implementation of V32bis. Come on Trev. Yes, it was certainly first carefully documented with my Supra calling the Spirit, BUT it was THEN extensively seen with a wide variety of OTHER modems downloading from a Spirit, even in the US, with Wolfgang faking away on that quite a bit there. Dave Hatch even saw it between a pair of Spirits, tho certainly not at the same occurrence frequency seen with other modems from a Spirit. And this story about the Supra has a massive problem explaining why you dont see the mindless retrain straight after the connect with the USR Sportster V34. And now that its clear that its become clear that the mindless retrain behaviour of the Courier goes away if V32terbo is disabled on the Courier, and the Spirit Thunder ALSO had to have V32terbo disabled to ensure reliable incoming V32bis connects from NOT JUST A SUPRA, this is just the usual attempt to point the finger and blame it on the other party. That clearly is unsustainable when the double send was seen between a pair of Spirits by a reliable observer. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 |
