Hi Poe, [Thus spake Poe Lim unto Sunny Leung:] SL> That's what I'm considering too - keeping the EP as a backup modem. SL> I found the EP's v.FC to be extremely robust and reliable. It got SL> 28.8k connects around 95% of the time and very rarely screwed SL> things up. Hopefully the v.34 will be as good. PL> Microcom's v.FC seems to have been the most robust of the lot; I know PL> I used to get fantastic rates with my FAST (that was before the USR PL> was upgraded; SREJ more than matches the Microcom, let alone v.34+ PL> when you get it). But now most calls I get are v.34. Talking of transfer rates, my Courier has been getting fantastic rates with Netcomms - c. 3350 cps if I get a v.34 28.8k connect. In contrast, the Courier gets the usual 3250 cps (rough figure) with Maestro v.34s. I wouldn't have a clue why this performance differential exists, and AFAIK (using ATI6) connects with Netcomms do not utilise SREJ which could have explained any performance gap. Sunny ...
