I did post a message on facebook encouraging people to add this echo. 
And if Open Edit can be used with WWIV, even with WWIV 5.X, Id jump for joy
as  well :)

All we need to do is get some more systems involved, get some people to
work  on the 5.xx code, and see if we could try again with a fresh
approach.
