You are correct about "Alien Encounters"... they may gut "America Sings" and
remove the carousel so they have more room for AE.  There will never be
another carousel like America Sings/Carousel of Progress due to the high cost
to make it safe.  It would be cheaper to tear down the entire building and
start from scratch.

Safety First is the mantra of Disney.  The safety and clean atmosphere is
something that has been important since "day one".
Eisner did hate AE, but it is popular with the public.  So that means that
they will sell as many extra tickets as they did when the Indy ride opened
(nearly triple the number of tickets in the first 6 weeks).  So Eisner knows
that if it is popular, more tickets will be sold, and more money made... even
if he does not like the ride (he more than hates it), he knows that it is
necessary for some "quick cash".
