I tricked out my 305 in my S15,played with the tranny,and ran a 3.73 
rear gear and was able to outrun a 70 Chevelle SS 396 with a redone 
motor.It is sometimes the right combinations of gears and such that get 
you down the 1/4 mile.I hate when people say you need a big block to go 
fast.Do some reading and talk to people at shows,etc and you will be 
suprised what you will learn.
I switched to a 350 this year and have not been happy with the 
results.I wish I had stayed with my little ole 305.
