Thanks for the reply. I havn't as yet set up a template, but I set
up a macro linked to to create the footer with the required
information in it. I found that setting up the macro was relatively
easy, and not as difficult as I feared it would be with programing
language not needed at all.

ps. The April "PC User" does an article "Ten Word toolbar macros",
and one of them is "Footer with filename and path". A case of great
minds think alike?
