Just thought i'd share my experiences with all you regarding a Simple
28800vfc modem. A system i poll to pick up a few msg areas not far
from me (about 28km away on noisy lines) use to have a Spirit Thunder
on line and i could get solid v32bis 12k connects to him using my M11F
this end and 19200 v32ter with my USR, the sysop has just put a Simple
28800vfc online to replace the Spirit Thunder now the M11F won't even
connect at any vfc speeds and will only hold at v32 4800, the USR will
connect at 16800 vfc and hold but throughput is only around
1200-1300cps, so either the lines out to there have suddenly gone to
hell in a handbasket or Simple modems can't handle dirty lines.
Another user in town here gets good 28800 connects to my M11F so on
clean lines they seem to work ok.
