Your right. They can let the pressure of trying so hard at school and
other places out at home. My Jeremy was like that until last year.
Than he starting having small attitude problems with his teacher and
several times refused to finish school. It seems each year the demands
made on him started to get harder to control his emotions and this
year .......well he lets it all out. Many people think that ADHD
children act out of control all the time, but that is not necessarily
the case. Some are ok at school, because of the structure and their
own pressure they put on themselves. Then when they get home they
are comfortable and react to the kind of day (pressure-wise) they
had. My kids also behave at other people's homes. The only time
I see a problem is after about 2 1/2 hours or if they don't have
enough physical activity to do. People are always telling me what
wonderfully behaved children I have. Thats when I say Can I leave
them here for a week. Then tell me that. Actually that is probably
a blessing for me.
