Hi Roger,

RD> I said the above as I have tried MANY Taiwanese modems, and have found
RD> them all to operate very poorly, at least here in Australia. I think

I have had a Diamond and that was about 1 and a half years ago, and it worked
fine. Also, my friend had a "no name" modem, which must have been made in
Tawain and I managed to get that working ok, it just takes a bit of time and
patients to setup a modem so it is working perfect.

RD> reason, Diamond modems do not function as well as they should in
RD> Australia, as they have Taiwanese firmware, and I have never heard
RD> anyone getting 'good' CPS rates on one! Cheers, Roger -!- FMail/386

Well I have.. I always used to get 1700+ CPS rate on my 14.4k modem, and that
is average for all modems despite what brand they are.
