I work for Imagineering, my position is dealing with handicapped
ccessability
and safety with the design of all the parks and the attractions owned by
Disney.
I would never work for Disney directly. What your father says about the
company is true, this is why I am an "Independant Contractor"... I am paid
well when they have work for me... but if I was on the payroll, I would
probably have been laid off (even with my seniority) during the big layoffs a
few years ago.
My particular division had a large budget, since accessability and safety are
the highest priority with the Imagineering division.
If it breaks and does not post a safety hazzard, then they go with the low
bid. But if it is a safety hazard, they spend the money.
Take care,
John
