G'day John,

John Rich wrote in a message to Roger Dunk:

While that all sounds good and well, the customer relations at Diamond
certainly has something to be desired. I was considering purchasing one of
the 28.8k modems, but upon dialling the (02) number and asking if Diamond
had SysOp deals, I was met with the response 'So, are you going to order
one or what?'. I said I only wanted to know if Diamond did SysOp deals, and
whoever it was put me on-hold for about 5mins, and then said 'Yeah, so do
you want to buy one'. After that, I said 'well, I was thinking about it,
but now I'm not so sure', and hung up.

Another time, I rang up and asked which/if Diamond modems have FlashRom
upgradability. The person at the other end didn't know, so gave me the tech
support number. Upon calling that, the guy told me they did. Anyhow, after
asking a few more questions, the guy asks me what BBSs I call. I told him a
few, and he asks if I can give him the numbers of any pirate BBSes. It was
at that time I once again made up my mind about buying a Diamond. NO WAY!

Another thing... Why are Diamond modems advertised as being Australian
made, when you have admitted they are Taiwanese??? Also, why does a modem
bought from Diamond have 'Bullet' on the case, and no mention of Diamond??

 JR> Cheers,

 JR> John (The Diamond Group)

I could have guessed ;)

Cheers,
Roger
