RD>> Diamond modems are just your usual Taiwanese piece's of crap. They are RD>> said to be made here in Oz, but when you actually see one, it doesn't RD>> even say Diamond anywhere on it ;) Anyhow, what I am saying is, DO NOT TC> Well I do not work for the company or anything, but I have had a Datapump TC> 14.4k before, and that worked perfectly. There was nothing wrong with TC> it... TC> and nearly all modems are the same, they all have the Rockwell chipset, TC> just TC> that they are manufactured diffrently. Because a lot of modem makers in the past, had 14400 modems that were bullet proof, does not mean that the 28800 modems they now produce are good. It seems that you can not rely on past reputations anymore. They are all out for the Almighty Dollar and the cheaper and nastier a modem is made, then the more profit can be tacked on. People have some Idea of what they expect to pay for goods, whether the goods actually cost that much to produce + a fair profit, or not. It comes down to marketing these days, not if the product is quality.
