Because a lot of modem makers in the past, had 14400 modems that were bullet

proof, does not mean that the 28800 modems they now produce are good.

It seems that you can not rely on past reputations anymore.



They are all out for the Almighty Dollar and the cheaper and nastier a modem

is made, then the more profit can be tacked on.



People have some Idea of what they expect to pay for goods, whether the

goods actually cost that much to produce + a fair profit, or not.

  

It comes down to marketing these days, not if the product is quality.
