MC> I had been working with Joel WIlliams of the Deltones,
MC> Ex-Black Oak Arkansas drummer for wahile, still see him on
MC> occasion, as well as Howard Stovel of the Blues Foundation.
MC> Howard's really a fantastic keyboard player, and I do get
MC> to meet up with him occasionally.
That sounds kool. The last place I lived, over on Cobblestone,
the guy across the street from me played bass for Black Oak.
He played one gig a week for fun mostly, but makes his living
writing and recording music sound bytes and commercials.
MC> I had been working pretty closely with a fellow by the name
MC> of Paul Bostick. Paul was an EXCELLANt player as well as a
MC> person, but very unfortunatly, he met an untimly death three
MC> weeks ago in a hiking accident. Hasn't been too cheery
MC> around here...
This is less than optimal. Hiking accident ?
MC> I'm pretty much at the point to where I would like to start
MC> gigging again, but I know once I start it again, the same
MC> old problems will creep back up, but it really is time to
MC> get out and stop the woodshedding..
I'm with you. Just seem to be getting the itch. :-)
Let me know when your schedule permits you to do something.
I'm thinking we should get together if for nothing else than
have a beer and shoot the crap.
MC> I too, enjoy Floyd. I think the Division Bell is bar far my
MC> favorite album, Gilmour's playing is so "On".....
Really.
MC> I'm a pretty big Stones and Alice Cooper freak, Enjoy the
MC> hell out of Eric Johnson, B.B. King, and especially Albery
MC> Collins for pure fire...
I like the Stones, Beatles too. Went to see Eric at B.B.'s.
That sure put things in perspective for me. :-(
I have one Albert Collins CD, Cold Snap. I never really heard anything
about him, but read an article in the Fender quarterly rag about him
and just wanted to hear him. He's a great player, but I don't know
if many people would recognize his work ?
Later...
