I know why i wasn't seeing the Problem that Paul was now, after i
changed the terminal speed i was issueing ATI4 so the modem was
resetting itself to the changed speed, thats why my modem wasn't
showing the problem, i'll just test it now and only issue ATZ after
the port speed change.

your right, if i just change the port speed and only issue ATZ then
ring the modem it just puts garbage on the screen.
