I believe that the fellow was using a 14.4k Supra. I own a couple of 14.4k
models (both externals, an LC and a v32bis) and I don't think they support
distinctive ring.
But thanks for reminding me that the 28.8k model *does* support the feature.
I was thinking of using it here when I realized the 28.8 can be programmed
for the ring-patterns and the extra switch boxes are not required. But the
boxes *may* come in handy if you want to isolate the modem line from the rest
of the phone circuit. The boxes on an extension phone help prevent
interrupting an active modem session.
