Brian,
There has been heavy tanker and REACH activity over the past week
noted primarily on 11175.0 and 6739.0 (plus the other GHFS frequencies)
that involve movement of troops and material to places such as Kuwait City
and others in the Middle East. The tankers involve TURBO ## and GOLD ##
callsigns. In North America a good time to hear this activity in after
local sunset on 6739.0. However, much of the activity has already taken
place so it's quieted down greatly. If there is a troop movement from Fort
Hood, Texas to Kuwait, the activity will show up on those freqs. Also,
reporters from at least one U.S. television news network (CBS) have been
deadheading on these tanker flights, and attempting phonepatches to CBS in
New York. Maybe they'll do it again.
