Hi Wonda,
I remember those dolls. You need a styrophome ball for the head.
You wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard or something stiff. If I
remember it should be about two feet long. Wrap the yarn around
about eighty times. At what would be the top of the head, gather all
the wraps together and tie them with a short piece. Carefully pull
the yarn off the cardboard. I stuck my hand through so the tied
piece was on top of my hand. I'd take the ball and carefully stick
it in the yarn. At the bottom of the ball grab all the yarn and tie
with another small piece of yarn. At the bottom of the yarn that is
hanging, I cut all the loops opened so that all the strands just hang
down. Devide the strands in to eight groupes, devide each groupe in
to three parts, and braid tying the ends of the braids with small
pieces of yarn. Add two buttons on the front of the head for eyes,
and at the end of the braids tie a boe with a coordinating colored
ribbon that goes with the color yarn. Hope this is a good enough
   discription for you.
   Carolyn
