You cannot control "natural selection" since by definition this is by
non-human agency.
However humans can apply artificial selection - for instance breeding more
and more vicious dogs for use in fighting, or more and more tranquil animals
for use as lapdogs, longer ones for use as sausage dogs, tastier and tastier
ones for use in Chinese cooking.
There are limits - for instnace no amount of artifical selection will
produce an invisible dog, because of fundamental physical constraints, nor
will you produce a winged dog, because the variation simply isn't there to
select. Some day we may learn how to engineer the genome to produce things
like winged dogs, but at the moment we are restricted to much simpler
modifications.
