Another observation I will report. I was never able to see
the "OK" response from ATZ et al on my Spirit or USR, despite
having scoured the binkley code to find out where it was
getting lost. I am now seeing the "OK" response. It could
be because ATZ takes 2 seconds to respond where the previous
ones were quicker perhaps (I never timed it, but if I had to
bet, I'd say the Netcomm is slower).
The Netcomm appears to be quieter too, people connect without
me hearing anything. Again, this is just initial reaction, I
had turned sound on the USR with the volume control, not M0,
so maybe that explains the difference. It's a very smart
looking modem though. Except for that bloody 3-5Hz flashing
anyway. Oh, BTW, the all-on mode is 14400, so presumably that
was the logical default for their older modems, and they didn't
make everyone learn a new set of lights. BFN. Paul.
