    Bruce is right. Nowerdays it's software controlled. The problem is that
COM2 and COM4 use the same IRQ. As far as I know, it can be set in BIOS 
etup.
So, if you manage to assign to these ports different IRQ, then everything 
ill
be OK. BTW, dont forget, that your modems have to support them.
