RW> RW> Chris, welcome to the OS/2 & eCS family. I, myself, run eCS 2.0 beta 4 RW> on my laptop under MS Virtual PC and really like it. I would just RW> recommending ZIPping up your DOS BBS and then burning the ZIP file to a i love ecomstation. its awesome. i used to use os/2 warp 4 back in the day, but never used it enough to really get the hang of it. so basically, i am still a newbie to it. i also have the 2.0 beta4 cd, i did end up installing it first, but i killed that setup and installed 1.2mr instead. i cant remember why.. i think it was stability and perhaps lack of support? im not sure. i am still trying to find some sites on the internet dedicated to os/2 ecs tutorials and tweaking. i have the main ones bookmarked, nicpak, apecs, os-2 site, ecomstation.org os2warp.be and a few others. it took me a while to get my soundcard working, but it works now. i am however havomg [problems with my usb drives. i have 2 usb ports here, and 4 1gb keys. if i plug 1 of them into a signle port, eCS detects it fine, and i can work with it. but if i plug another one into the second port, while the first is still plugged in, it will not find the second one. all of the keys work iun either port if plugged in single. any advice? i tried some other usb drivers but they ended up crashing my system (thats why! i switched back to 1.2) the reason i ask this (it may seem a little off topic for bbs carnival) is because i want to use my memory sticks to transfer my bbs, and while it will work if i plug just one in, i ran into this problem and want to know if anyone else experienced it or if there is a solution. this seems to be the most frequented channel. anyways, let me know. peace, chris. --- ProBoard v2.17 [Reg]* Origin: Outpost BBS - Douglasville, GA - bbs.outpostbbs.net (1:18/200) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 18/200 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
