Why did they wait to reveal it? Because obviously the story is a bust.
There is nowhere they can go with it. Berger has only to claim he picked up
the papers accidentally while picking up his own notes. How can anyone
prove otherwise? If there were a case to made against him, it would have
been made long before now.

All they could do eventually was just  reveal the story finally and see
most of the media more or less ignore it, as it has. Of course the
far-right types here see it as a major scandal, but that only points up how
far removed from reality they are. The surprising thing to me is that
otherwise usually sensible people here have gotten caught up in this
far-right fantasy and even agreeing with Gary
B.'s absurd fantasizing about it.
