I agree with you there will be no evidence of the crime, because Berger has
already told everyone he threw that evidence away.

I also know he wouldn't commit a felony just to remove the 5th copy of a
harmless document.  You can believe that if you like, but no reasonable
person would believe he stuffed a harmless copy of something in his
underwear or socks just by mistake.

The story will fade away, because the evidence has been destroyed by
Berger. That much we agree on.
