Did I ever ask you about whipping up a little max util that would sort
entries in the filearea.ctl and/or msgarea.ctl?
You or anybody else?
Max 3.x doesn't sort the areas anymore (2.x did) and I haven't seen any way
to do this.... so... a quick and dirty little program to work on a file that
looks like this:
Store the top & bottom division commands, pick out the msgarea keyword &
store everything until the end msgarea tag... then sort based on the first
line of each entry... then write it back out again.
MsgDivisionBegin Kingston limited/u . DIV: Usenet KINGSTON message areas
msgarea bbs
     Acs Limited/u
     Desc kingston.bbs
     Origin . . Starstream.crp.kingston.on.ca
     Override Message Msg_Enter Worthy
     Override Message Msg_Upload Worthy
     Override Message Msg_Reply Worthy
     Path d:\msg\usenet\kingston\BBS
     Renum days 60
     Renum Max 100
     style nomailcheck conf Squish readonly
     Tag kingston.bbs
End Msgarea
msgarea eats
     Acs Limited/u
     Desc kingston.eats
     Origin . . Starstream.crp.kingston.on.ca
     Override Message Msg_Enter Worthy
     Override Message Msg_Upload Worthy
     Override Message Msg_Reply Worthy
     Path d:\msg\usenet\kingston\EATS
     Renum days 60
     Renum Max 100
     style nomailcheck conf Squish readonly
     Tag kingston.eats
End Msgarea
MsgDivisionEnd
This is a bad example as they are already sorted... but I've got over 600
others and I can tell you they are not in alphabetical order!
