Ok thanks I already have most of this there was a mod made to the radio so 
that I could get the 10 meters comes in very handy for lissening to cw wile I 
learn I have most of what you stated above other then the 30 memory channels 
and repeater offset. I guess the person that read the artical must of mis 
read it or mis quoted it he was talking of a mod for direct 2 meter operation 
but like you have stated and like I found out after I wrote this message that 
would be next to imposible without all kinds work going into it. it would 
almost be like building a new radio and I guess it would just be cheaper for 
me to buy anthoer 2 meter. the extra stuff that chip does that I do not have 
would be nice I'll have to check on that unless you have anymore info about 
it..
