I hear ya :) I recently had to find this info out so it was still fresh in my
mind. I knew about _memavl() in Watcom, so I scanned the .H files in
orland's
directory and came across that little tidbit.

hehe, good luck. I find it's often easier to just go directly to the header
file. I've found all sorts of info in them in comments that wasn't deemed
"necessary" to put in the help files!
It can be real frustrating :)
