directional and diversifying selection decreases
(evolution slows down)

As environmental adaptation decreases, stabilizing selection decreases and
directional and diversifying selection increases
(evolution speeds up)

One way to speed up evolution is to shift that species into directional or
diversifying selection.
Put the evolutionary pressure on high.

(Yet there is a limit to that
speed - and that is the rate of mutation)

(Though us humans can speed up  through cultural changes - which is much
faster)
