As my business is the TV industry I am not a modem dealer but a modem 
owner but for a very small margin I happy to pass on what I've found.

I can't comment on the Avtek but see if you can get some info out of the 
card with AT(0-6).  I found that many (most) of the low price modems 
were made in one factory and badged under lots of different names.

Anyway .... 14.4 $159  28.8 $299, books, software & exch. wty.
