War on porn:  I see where they're using the same tactic which the feds used
back when they took down Amateur Action BBS...

It seems that some people out in CA are into making porn.  But they're
being charged,  by the feds,  in Pittsburgh!  This guy faces a sentence of
up to 50 years,  twice that of what the guy who was trying to do the
surface-to-air missles a while back.

Quote of the day:  The news just said as to how the clinton administration
was too soft with regard to this stuff.

War-on-drugs:

I've seen those little glass tubes with a tiny rose in them in convenience
stores,  never thought much about them.  Also have seen assorted scrubby
things,  though if I'm looking for something like that I'll usually look in
a supermarket.

It seems that in Harrisburg (PA),  if the scrubby thing is copper,  and you
take the glass tube and take the contents out,  you have a crack pipe, 
somehow.

Or at least that's the view of local police.  They went into 40-some-odd
stores,  confiscated something like 24 _THOUSAND_ of those little glass
tubes with the roses in them,  and some unspecified number of the copper
scrubby things.

According to the local news,  no charges were filed,  but if they do it
again there will be,  and if they do it a third time _their stores will be
seized_!

Hey,  nothing like living in a free country,  right?
