For that I use startup.cmd.

Tat is
- start up peer services
- login
- net use remote resorces
- for some some apps or batches beloning on check a flag file
   on them and sleep a bit and continue the loop
   until the flag file exists

For sleeping I use a little program I found about 1993 named sleep.exe 
that does nothing than to give CPU away for the specified amount of 
seconds and thereafter dying itself.
