Hello Art,
Can't really comment on your freq change (as I'm in NA), although
I HAVE tuned it a couple times when the 9745 feed goes off at 0200.
Reception is not that great here, but then I'm just using the AR-10
vertical I use on 10m for recv'g, so that I hear it at all is an
unusual occurance and added blessing. The 9745 freq is 4x7 here,
with a slight amount of fade to below the noise level for a syllable
or two once every ~30-60 seconds. The 9645 transmission is quite a
bit less and is quite a marginal copy with the array I'm using.
I do, however, wish that Bill Pierces' NightSounds were a bit
longer program. A half hour just never seems enough... The end time
of the broadcast is perfect though, as it helps me to a very nice
frame-of-mind for a peaceful sleep and ends at midnight (Pacific).
Some days 30 minutes just isn't enough time to get to that point :).
Now all I have to do is get my rcvr (Kenwood TS-140S) to be
smart enough to know when the broadcast is over and shut off so
I'm not awakened by the carrier going off at 0200 .
BTW: I just got my C-Band earth (rcvr) station in operation, but still
need to do a bit of adjustment. Are you (HCJB) doing anything
on the satellites ? Being as close to the equator, I would
think you'ld have access to just about ANY of the ones flying.
Sincerely,
           Bruce - kb6lwn - ck1@pacbell.net
