A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Dave DeGear wrote to Don Guy:

What I'd like to do, is remap the backspace key onto Del through ZOC. Unless 
I'm mistaken though, Del is just a scan code, while backspace has an ascii 8 
(^H) attached to it. ZOC's key remapping seems to be limited to ascii or 
external commands...
