That seems to be what has worked out in my life. (Nice Airport bit there ¨below!).

AH! I was wondering. It just started one day some year or so ago back
here ¨and looked like a clothes-line and i didnt understand it. The
clothes arent ¨that good or long lasting but cost 30$ for a top what
without that brand name, ¨can be gotten in almost identical for 5$.
Then again, Japan has it's own fads. It's the only place you will find
adults ¨wearing 'mi kitty' (Blush, my cell phone is a mi kitty phone. Don
had ¨Charlotte with him when he picked it out). I want a Tomayashi
keychain! He ¨rocks! .
The local base has a 'fad' of it's own unique style, lightly based on a
¨Japanese one. Many of the bluejeans here have fur rims at the bottom.
The ¨local clothing rules for the base (applies to the dependants too) says
no ¨frayed pants and they have stepped this up. This created a problem for
those ¨of us with growing kids and a few came back to the 60's idea of the
thick ¨'ribbon' at the bottm to extend them. The hottest thing now is to
match with a ¨friend so your right leg has a bottom ribbon (covering frayed
bottoms) that ¨matches their left leg, and the other leg will be either
something else, or ¨match another friend. They will actually line up the
matching legs when they ¨walk someplace.
I've got queries out for 1 yard bits of eyelit laces and neat buttons, from
¨internet ordering places. Very important to the kids that each be
'unique' and ¨not something 'everyone else has on their pants' so I cant
get it locally but ¨had to check the local stuff to be sure not to
duplicate. I have 3 different ¨1yard bits due in and some wierd buttons
that will go at the top of the ¨'ribbon' to cover that I am just so-so with
sewing an actual seam (no machine ¨here).
I get a giggle out of this. I wanted patches like these as a kid so *bad I
¨could taste it* but 'Mom' though they were dumb so I made my own and just
sewed ¨them on til the fad passed. My home made ones then weren't
considered totally ¨cool by the 'jet set' (kid version) but everyone else
liked them. Charlotte ¨has only one set with the 'ribbon' bottom just now
but it's handmade from an ¨old sheet and embroidered with little kitties
and bears and her name along the ¨outer leg. There are loops at the top of
the 'border' that attach to buttons ¨sewn on the legs so they can be washed
separately. I've been threaten'd with ¨virtual death if i dont make one
leg for Lisa and one for Nicole, from their ¨respective Mom's .
