While listening to Paul Edwards Pete heard:netcomm online!

G'day Paul

 PE> I have not tried:
 PE> AT\V9 and AT%U0

PE> Anyway, one thing this has shown is that I am getting solid
PE> connects at 26400 instead of 28800. BFN. Paul.

PE> P.S. What I was trying to achieve in the first place was a
PE> single line connect string that told me what EC was used, and
 PE> whether compression was on.

AT\V1%U2 will give you all this infomation.

You might like to try \V7 or \V6 but only dialing from a terminal
prog, this will give you a blow by blow account of your connect, i'd
think a mailer would choke on the info though.
