That is quite an other matter than "unable to operate your hard disk".  
The latter meaning there is something wrong with  os2dasd.dmd  (or 
ibmflpy1.add for that matter).

Bullshit. LVM even didn't exist in W4 times. Even with the latest Fixpak 
(15) Warp4  remained Warp 4 (thus running on the 16 bit os2dasd.dmd). 
LVM came up with WsEB around the year 2000, and only works with the 
32-bit os2dasd.dmd (and matching kernell files of course).
