subject: M34F Problem

Hi All,

If anyone can help with this I'd be grateful.

I have an employer supplied M34F for access into our systems after hours,
and¨ I've been watching the stuff in here for some good tips on setting it
up for¨ personal use, too. On 9 Jan 96 Stephen Lennie sent Tony Lundberg a
message¨ with an impressive looking init string. I altered it in just two
ways -¨ because I wanted the plain vanilla config to stay in config 0 to
keep the¨ employer supplied comms package happy, I saved it to config 1
with &w1, and I¨ didn't use the s97=49.
When I view the stored config with &v1, lo and behold! the &T5
s7=45 s8=2¨ s11=70 s33=120 commands were not saved.  I tried breaking the
string in two¨ and saving each part, but that didn't work either. I could
get around it by¨ adding these commands to my init string after the atz1,
but I want to get to¨ the bottom of it. Thinking it might be a problem
with the modem, I did a¨ swap with a colleague who has an identical modem,
purchased at the same time¨ as mine. Guess what - same problem.

Any ideas???

Marty.
